Dear Readers,

‘CHANGE’ is necessary in all our lives. Stagnation prevents us from progress and today’s modern world desires “Progressive Development” Down the lane, our worlds have undergone many political, social, religious, economic & cultural transformations. But the overall outcomes are not very satisfactory.
Standing firmly in today’s tough, stressful competition needs a lot of courage along with skills. The need of the hour is to update ourselves and gain basic knowledge in various fields.
The other major concern for our society is our MORAL & SPIRITUAL life. Ethics and morality, which used to be the judging criteria of one’s character have been overshadowed by the richness of a person. Now days success and prosperity are measured in terms of money. Though partially right, the total dependency on money for such analysis is absurd. Until qualitative aspects are taken into consideration such analysis is incomplete.
“REVOLUTION FOR CHANGE” endeavors to serve society as a whole. It will try to bring up various issues concerning the COMMON MAN. There are innumerable issues that need to be addressed. We as citizens of our beloved nation TANZANIA, need to consciously understand our basic rights, duties and responsibilities towards society as well as nature.

Pope John Paul II Visits Cuba

Pope John Paul II’s visit to Cuba in 1998 marked the first time a pope visited the island. Although Cuba’s Communist government has long discouraged membership in the Roman Catholic Church, Cuban president Fidel Castro extended an invitation to the pope and encouraged citizens to welcome him during his stay in Cuba.

On July 26, 1953, Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro led approximately 180 young men in an attack on the Moncada military fortress in Santiago de Cuba. This assault on the political leadership of dictator Fulgencio Batista ended in Castro’s capture and imprisonment. At his trial Castro acted as his own attorney and gave the following speech in his defense. Batista granted him amnesty in 1955, and Castro went into exile in Mexico. In 1956 he returned to Cuba with a small group of guerrillas, calling themselves the 26th of July Movement. Their revolution eventually triumphed in 1959.
